Strawberry Hot Cocoa Bombs

These Strawberry Hot Cocoa Bombs are the perfect sweet treat! So fun for Valentine's day or any day of the week!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Strawberry Powder Drink Mix
  • 1/2 cup Powdered Milk
  • 7 - 8 ounces White Chocolate
  • 1/2 cup Freeze Dried Strawberries
  • 1/3 cup Mini Marshmallows
  • Large cavity semi-sphere silicone mold
  • optional sprinkles, white chocolate, strawberry dust

Instructions

  • Make the strawberry mix by combining equal parts powdered strawberry drink mix and powdered milk (1/2 cup of each).

  • Melt white chocolate in the double boiler.

  • Spoon melted chocolate into mold and coat the entire mold using the back of a small spoon.
  • Allow chocolate to set up in the molds (If desired, speed up this process by placing molds in freezer for several minutes).

  • Once it has hardened, gently press chocolate spheres out of molds.
  • Rotate bottom half of bomb on a warm plate to smooth edges.
  • Fill the bottom half with 1/4 cup strawberry mixture, several freeze dried strawberries and mini marshmallows.

  • Rotate top half of sphere on a warm plate to smooth edges and gently press two halves together. The slightly melted edge will seal the two halves.  
  • Decorate tops by piping melted white chocolate from a pastry bag and sprinkle with strawberry dust, shaved white chocolate and/or sprinkles. 
  • Enjoy your strawberry bombs by placing bomb in a mug and pouring hot water or milk over it.

Notes

1. If you don’t have a double boiler you can boil water in a pan with a lid and put a bowl on top of the lid, this will work the same as a double boiler. 
2. You can put a plate over the double boiler or hot pan to heat it to smooth the edges and seal the two sides together. 
3. A sandwich bag can be used instead of a piping bag if needed, use a toothpick to poke a small hole in one of the corners.
