Can I add bacon if I want?
Yes, simply lay slices of bacon on the top of the bean mixture or cut into strips and mix into the bean mixture.
Can I use dried beans?
Yes, you can.  Simply soak beans overnight and then follow the same recipe as above but add an additional hour of cooking time just to make sure the beans are done.
